  • Leo is everything you want in a trainer - knowledgeable, helpful, encouraging, and motivational. He’s really helped me with my form as I’m learning to lift heavier.

  • Leo is an amazing trainer. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, yet keeps workouts both effective and fun. He’s always patient and takes the time to understand how your body moves and what it needs. Training with Leo feels supportive, motivating, and empowering.

    Ume

  • Best personal trainer I've ever trained with. Genuinely the first time I've enjoyed exercise in over 10 yrs! Leo is super easy to spend time with and he pushes me in a way that feels satisfying and fun, rather than aggressive or demanding.. I'll be training with Leo for as long as I can and anyone thinking of giving it a go should - you won't regret it!

  • I really rate Leo. I was a total newcomer to powerlifting and he made it so easy to follow and accessible. Lovely guy too!

  • Weekly sessions at the Strength Shed with Leo have turned into a real highlight of my week. I can see my progression each week with the training plan he's created, and I feel myself getting stronger in my day to day life. The shed itself is kitted out with all the equipment you need and it's so lovely to workout outside on sunnier days. Leo's incredibly friendly and we always have a great chat. Highly recommend sessions with Leo :)

  • Leo has been my PT for over 2 years now and had an extremely positive impact on my fitness and workouts. Not only is great professional and knows what he is doing he is all a great guy to chat and have banter with (even at 6.30 on a Friday morning!)

    Matt

  • Leo is a brilliant trainer, his space is warm and has everything you need to get better at lifting heavy stuff, fitter and stronger. I was really intimidated by the idea of getting fitter but Leo has really helped me along. I'm really glad I started training with him, would recommend him to you if you're thinking of getting a trainer.

Types of training at the Strength Shed

  • Functional strength training focuses on exercises that mimic real-life movements to enhance everyday physical capabilities and generally make you physically better at life.

This type of training is a hybrid of styles and includes elements of Powerlifting, Olympic lifting and many others.

Beyond building strength and endurance, my programs also prioritise mobility, balance, and coordination to help you become a more well-rounded athlete.

As we train you to move more efficiently and powerfully, you'll feel stronger and more confident in your day to day. Whether it's carrying your shopping, playing with your kids, or getting stronger for other sports.

If you're looking for a practical, dynamic, and effective way to get fit for whatever life throws at you, functional strength training is a very versatile and rewarding approach.

  • Powerlifting is a strength sport where you aim to lift the maximum weight possible in three exercises: the squat, bench press, and deadlift.

Whilst focused on this target the benefits of powerlifting training are vast. As well as increased overall strength, you'll see improved muscle mass, enhanced bone density, and better body composition.

Along with detailed technique work I'll teach you to push yourself harder than you ever thought possible. You will learn how to never give up on a lift as if your life depends on it!

  • Olympic weightlifting involves performing two explosive lifts—the snatch and the clean and jerk for the maximum weight possible.

Olympic lifting training benefits include improved full-body strength, power, and speed, as well as enhanced coordination, flexibility, and balance.

More explosive and dynamic than powerlifting, these lifts help develop explosive athleticism, which translates well into other sports and daily life.

Olympic lifting is an extremely satisfying challenge as you master complex techniques and progressively lift heavier, seeing your hard work pay off. It requires a lot of mental focus and discipline to keep technique on point but the rewards are worth every second. If you enjoy a blend of strength, agility, precision, and generally throwing heavy weights around, Oly lifting is for you!

  • Yoga and mobility work has always underpinned my own training. If you want to be strong, being mobile helps massively.

Yoga as a stand alone practice is brilliant for the mind and body. It also enhances strength training by improving flexibility, mobility, and balance which leads to better lifting form, faster recovery, and reduced injury risk.

It also promotes mental focus and relaxation, making it a powerful complement to optimise your strength gains and overall well-being.

I am a qualified yoga teacher and offer 1:1 and small group yoga sessions at the Shed. There will almost always be some version of mobility work in each session I offer.

  • Stronger for Longer is a small-group strength and movement class specifically for those aged 60 and beyond. Groups of 3–4 people.

Research shows strength training and social connection are two of the most effective tools for aging well.

Strength training helps maintain muscle, bone density, balance, and coordination which are all essential for staying active, confident, and injury-free as you age.

Community = Longevity. Training together creates connection, accountability motivation, and fun.

Strong social ties are linked to longer life, better brain health, and reduced risk of chronic illness.

These sessions are done at a reduced rate per person at £70 per session split between all participants rather than £25 per person. So grab a couple mates, get involved and get Stronger for Longer
